How to join AC21
A brief explanation on how to become an AC21 member
Membership criteria
- Members
a. Institutional commitment to research and to the principles of AC21
b. Engagement as demonstrated by exchange agreements with existing member(s)
c. The willingness substantially to contribute to the forum arrangements as well as AC21 events and activities listed in Article 1
*The STC in accepting the new member shall regard the geographical balance and the total number.
Partners
Non-academic organizations contributing to the support of the forums and AC21 events and activities
Duration of membership/partnership
Membership/Partnership is effective from the day of admission to AC21 till the next General Assembly, to continue thereafter unless the institution gives 6 months’ written notice of termination to the STC through the AC21 General Secretariat. Where possible, any pending activities of an institution that wishes to withdraw from AC21 shall be concluded as originally scheduled. Those members or partners who cease to satisfy the relevant criteria for Membership or Partnership will be asked to withdraw following a vote of the General Assembly.
Responsibilities of Members and Partners1) Members a. Active participation in the events and activities of AC21 b. Recruitment of supporting Partners from the local region c. Regular updating of relevant information about personnel exchanges, research and education as well as inter-regional exchange on the AC21 website and in other publication media d. Payment of annual membership contributions 2) Partners a. Assistance to AC21 events and activities b. As appropriate, participation in the events and activities of AC21 c. Regular updating of relevant information about internship offers, personnel exchanges, research & development and management on the AC21 website and in other publication media d. Financial donations, donations in name or in kind
Application procedureMembership and Partnership Application 1) Institutions desiring to become AC21 Members must apply to the AC21 General Secretariat and be approved by the STC 2) Institutions desiring to become AC21 Partners must apply to the AC21 General Secretariat upon recommendation of a Member Institution and be approved by the STC Note: AC21 Members might also seek sponsors and donors for particular events and activities of AC21 |
