Description of course/cirriculum Countless tourists from Germany, Austrian and Switzerland travel all over the world. The main focus of this course “Undertaking-Tourism” is the acquisition and ensuing proficiency of the language skills which are utilized on a daily basis in the tourist industry. Methods employed will include readings, exercises with audio texts, and other educational aids that focus on various conversational situations. In addition to other specialty areas, subject matter will include the areas of reception and restaurant, telephone information at a travel agency, gastronomy specific vocabulary as well as presenting your own business at tourism conventions. A language proficiency of B2 is required for participation in this course. The lessons can be complemented by daily practise at the Language Lab and by attending seminars and lectures in the afternoon. Day trips to the Black Forest, Switzerland and the Alsace Region of France are offered in addition to a varied program in and around Freiburg, organized by our dedicated student helpers.
