Description of course/cirriculum We invite you to spend four to five weeks of your summer (our winter) in one of the most beautiful regions of the world, while you learn about life in post-Apartheid South Africa and experience the rich and diverse culture of the Western Cape. Stellenbosch University strives to be significantly better and significantly different. As one of the best equipped universities on the African continent, we offer access to state-of-the-art research equipment, libraries and electronic resources coupled with exceptional academic supervision. The charming town of Stellenbosch is stationed in the heart of the Cape Winelands, surrounded magnificent mountains. Stellenbosch is only 20 away from the nearest beaches and 30 minutes from Cape Town.
The academic programme consists of lectures, group discussions and field trips, and is taught by Stellenbosch University faculty staff and other South African experts. The lectures cover a variety of topics, including Community Engagement, History, Politics, Bio-diversity, Art, Literature, Sociology, the HIV/AIDS Epidemic, Democratic Consolidation in South Africa, Economics and Philosophy.
