|Description of course/cirriculum||The IIEF (International Institute of French Studies) offers four summer language proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced. French language courses are held every morning for students. The sessions are devoted to the initiation and development of skills (listening, speaking and writing). The Institute supports various activities which allow students to participate actively and thus see rapid growth. A self-guided learning is offered: tech audiovisual and multimedia (CD-ROMs, DVDs, videos, audio cassettes, etc.)
Students in levels 1 and 2 are offered interactive workshops in specific pronunciation and phonetics, conversation and understanding.
Students at level 2 and 3 are required to carry a research field focuses on French civilization. Level 4 students participate in lectures on French culture and society: History of Alsace, Literature, European politics, etc..
Many cultural, festive and sporting events punctuate your stay at the institute: reception at the Town Hall, visits to museums, the cathedral of Strasbourg, guided tours of the city of Strasbourg, visits to EU institutions (Council of Europe, European Parliament), dances, dinner-meeting tour of the historical cellar of the Hospices de Strasbourg tasting, stroll around Strasbourg by boat, etc.. Excursions are also organized on weekends to explore the Alsace region. The outputs are held on one day and include the meeting of local traditions, guided tours of historical monuments and museums, tasting local products, etc..
