Monthly Report No.12 (Jan. 4, 2009)
New Year’s Greetings from AC21 General Secretariat! We hope this finds all of you well.
*The Third Student World Forum at Chemnitz University of Technology*
When we were at the International Forum at NC State hearing about the plans for the Third Student World Forum in June 2009, we thought this day was still way ahead of us, but how time flies! Five months more and students will gather in Germany. As Secretariat has mentioned several times in the email as well as on the AC21 website, the traveling fee, local transportation fee and food will be taken care of by DAAD and other cooperative organizations, plus each student will receive a stipend. We have begun receiving application forums from many members, but those who haven’t, the deadline is at the end of this month, so please hurry. We sincerely hope all of you have already selected three students to send to the Forum. After all, who could miss such a tempting opportunity? It would be a shame that your students should miss out on this wonderful experience.
*A Visit to The University of Adelaide*
General Secretariat paid a visit to the AC21’s newest member, the University of Adelaide in November 2008. Pro-Vice Chancellor John Taplin and President and Vice-Chancellor James McWha welcomed us and we discussed many exciting plans for future AC21.
*A Visit from Chemnitz University of Technology*
Chancellor Alles and Ms. Katrin Schulz have visited us in December 2008 to discuss the details of the Student World Forum. You can imagine how happy and surprised we were to hear the plans they have offered!
*Call for Applicants: AC21 Special Project Fund*
