Monthly Report No.28 (Nov. 30, 2011)
Dear AC21 Members and Partners,
6th AC21 International Forum Update (June 12-15, 2012)
The call for papers and invitation from the University of Adelaide will be arriving shortly and should be in your inbox by next week. As this year marks the 10th Anniversary for the AC21, the General Secretariat would like to see 100% full membership participation at the GA meeting for 2012. This event will be hosted by the University of Adelaide and held at the neighbouring National Wine Center near the North Terrace Campus. We hope that all members will choose to join us for this forum to learn more about “Maximising the Benefits of Internationalisation”. Invitations for both the STC and GA meetings will go out soon, however, we urge you to mark your calendars for Thursday June 14th, 2012 for these two very important meetings. The STC and GA meetings will take place on the same day for ease of scheduling. We also hope that many of your researchers and faculty will join your delegations this year and help to make this event a truly collaborative environment for our consortium. The AC21 Project Coordinator attended the 7th QS-APPLE conference in Manila this month as a representative of the AC21 General Secretariat and Nagoya University. The mission of the QS-APPLE conference is “Helping to build world-class universities for Asia-Pacific Communities through global partnership and collaboration”. The conference was co-hosted by the University of Santo Tomas. Presentations focused on internationalization, a top priority for many institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as including for the first time the challenges of making higher education accessible for all citizens in developing countries.
AC21 Project Coordinator Staff Change
Although I have only been with the AC21 for one and a half years, I have made the decision to relocate back to British Columbia, Canada, in January of 2012, and as such, will be giving up my post on January 16th, 2012. I have enjoyed my time at the AC21 General Secretariat immensely, an experience which has given me the opportunity to meet and work with all those connected with the AC21. I consider my time working for this unique consortium to be an invaluable and enriching experience for me. I hope that our paths may cross again in the future, and I wish all the best for the successful continuation of the AC21 and all of its partners.
*My email address email@example.com will not be available after January 16th, 2012. Please forward all AC21 related emails to firstname.lastname@example.org
