Monthly Report No.57 (March 16, 2015)

Dear AC21 Members,

Greetings from the AC21 General Secretariat!

Hello to all AC21 members!

It has been a while since the last issue of the Monthly Report, during which time I have joined the General Secretariat as the new Project Coordinator. Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Kaoru Fukuda, and I am thrilled and delighted to be working with you all.

The following are some updates and news from the AC21 General Secretariat.

1) AC21 Special Project Fund (SPF) 2015 Awarded to Three Projectsaward-158854_1280.png

This year we had 11 applications, which is the largest number of applications we have ever received and demonstrates that the SPF has gradually gained the recognition of researchers in the AC21 network.

After the review process by the Steering Committee (STC) members, the following three proposals have been selected as the SPF awardees this year. Congratulations!

2) Sixth AC21 Student World Forum (SWF) & 13th AC21 Steering Committee (STC) Meeting

The SWF 2015 will take place from April 19 to 24 in the heart of Europe: France and Germany. Hosted by the University of Strasbourg in collaboration with the University of Freiburg, this year's SWF will see 40 students participating from our member universities.

Attendees at the STC meeting 2015, to be held in the same week on April 23 and 24 at the University of Freiburg, are scheduled to join the SWF on the final day, sharing the opportunity to be exposed to and understand the Forum's theme, "The European Experience in Local and Regional Democracy".

Preparation of the two-day STC meeting at Freiburg, including agenda and logistic arrangements, has been undertaken by the General Secretariat with the support of the University of Freiburg. The agenda will be finalized and sent to each attendee in April.

3) AC21 Newsletter Vol. 19 Released

The AC21 Newsletter Vol. 19 has recently been published both in paper and online (PDF). Each AC21 member should have received this latest issue by now.
