Monthly Report No.58 (April 10, 2015)
Dear AC21 Members,
Greetings from the AC21 General Secretariat!
With the Student World Forum 2015 and Steering Committee meeting just a couple of weeks away, we have been busy, but are happy to share some updates and news.
1) AC21 General Secretariat Participated in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference & Exhibition 2015
From March 23 - 26, 2015, two members of the AC21 General Secretariat attended at the APAIE 2015, held in Beijing, China, as joint exhibitors with Nagoya University (http://www.apaie.org/conference/2015/).
According to the organizers, this year's APAIE saw approximately 1,500 participants, 1.5 times more than that of 2014.
Among the participants were our colleagues from the member institutions and we were able to chat with them and deepen our relationships. Colleagues we met at APAIE were from the following universities: Chulalongkorn University, University of Freiburg, Jilin University, Kasetsart University, North Carolina State University, Peking University, Stellenbosch University and Technische Universität Chemnitz.
The conference provides a good annual opportunity to exchange thoughts and views between AC21 members in addition to the AC21-led events.
2) Sixth AC21 Student World Forum (SWF) & 13th AC21 Steering Committee (STC) Meeting
SWF 2015 will take place from April 19 to 24 in France and Germany, hosted by the University of Strasbourg and the University of Freiburg, expecting 40 students participating from our member universities.
The STC meeting 2015 will be held in the same week on April 23 and 24 at the University of Freiburg, in order to discuss our plans and outlook for the year 2015.
3) AC21-TUC NAFSA Working Breakfast 2015
Organized by the Technische Universität Chemnitz (TUC) on the occasion of the NAFSA, this Working Breakfast has become well-known with AC21 members as another annual event to further our collaboration, besides APAIE and the General Secretariat-led events.
The NAFSA 2015 Annual Conference will be held in Boston, USA, from May 24 - 29 this year, and the Working Breakfast is scheduled to be run by TUC for one day on May 27, while the NAFSA is being held.
Thank you very much for your continued support of AC21 and its activities.
