Monthly Report No.35 (January. 31, 2013)
Dear AC21 Members,
Greetings from the AC21 General Secretariat!
Thank you very much for your continued support of AC21 and its activities. The following are updates and some recent news from AC21.
1. AC21 International Graduate Summer School Update
Preparations for the AC21 International Graduate Summer School (AC21 IGSS) are proceeding very well. Since AC21 IGSS will be held in four months, our three host universities, namely Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University and Nagoya University, have been working very hard to make the AC21 IGSS a very attractive program for students and other participants. The three host universities held the 4th Joint Preparation Meeting in Bangkok on January 21. During the visit of delegates from Nagoya University, visits were paid to patronage organizations such as UNESCO, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and one sponsoring company, Toyota Motor Thailand (TMT) to express our gratitude for their support for and their attendance at the AC21 IGSS. The three host universities have also been visiting companies to generate fundraising for this project. We would appreciate it very much if other AC21 member universities could cooperate by generating fundraising for the Graduate Summer School. If you can help, please contact the AC21 General Secretariat (email@example.com).
Notice of acceptance has already been sent to the nominated keynote speakers and lecturers, as well as the AC21 Communicator of each member university. Renowned scholars and practitioners from AC21 member universities, including their alumni, will be delivering keynote speeches and lectures on the cutting edge research in their respective fields. The details of student applications for participating in this AC21 IGSS have already been sent to the AC21 Communicators of each member university (i.e. Application Guide for the AC21 IGSS, Application Form, List of Keynote Speakers and Lecturers). We would appreciate it if AC21 member universities could promote the participation of their students in this exceptional academic experience. Please visit the AC21 website below for up-to-date information about the AC21 IGSS. http://www.ac21.org/japanese/activities/schooling/
