Monthly Report No.64 (November 26, 2015)
Dear AC21 members,
Greetings from the AC21 General Secretariat!
It is surprising how time flies; it is already late November and there is only one month left before the 2015's year end.
So we will quickly move on to this month's news and updates -- voila!
1) Invitation to the AC21 Steering Committee (STC) Meeting and General Assembly (GA)
All AC21 member universities should have received by now the invitations to the STC Meeting and GA to be held in Chemnitz on April 30, 2016, and May 3, 2016, respectively, along with the reply forms. Please return the completed reply forms via email by December 18, 2015 to the General Secretariat's email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
This year's GA will decide the three new STC members who will serve a four-year term from 2016 to 2020, as well as have a vote on host universities for the 2019 and 2020 events. Calls for nominations and proposals for each of these positions will be announced shortly.
2) AC21's group presentation proposal for the APAIE 2016 was accepted
We are delighted and proud to announce that our proposal for a group presentation for the APAIE Annual Conference and Exhibition 2016 to be held in Melbourne, Australia was accepted. In our presentation entitled "AC21: The Consortia as a Tool for Collaboration in Education, Research and Beyond", we hope to demonstrate the AC21's initiatives and practices and discuss our future goals.
The group will be comprised of presenter/s from the following member universities:
(in alphabetical order)
- University of Adelaide
- Technische Universität Chemnitz
- Chulalongkorn University
- University of Freiburg
- Nagoya University
3) Application for the Special Project Fund (SPF) 2016 is open until Jan 31, 2016
Academics of an AC21 member institution are eligible to apply for this grant program provided by the AC21.
Those who wish to apply for the SPF should consult their university's AC21 Communicator(s) and obtain the SPF guidelines and application form for the 2016 round. They are also available for download at:
We look forward to receiving many inspiring applications that will enhance the AC21 research collaboration.
4) AC21 International Forum 2016 to be held in Chemnitz, Germany -- Official website has been launched!
The AC21 International Forum (IF) 2016 will be hosted by the Technische Universität Chemnitz from April 30 to May 3, 2016, with the theme "Networks of Innovation for the Transformation of Society through Science". One of the special attributes of the IF 2016 is that the forum is scheduled to be held in the week commemorating the jubilee, as 2016 marks the 180th anniversary of TU Chemnitz which was founded in 1836.
IF 2016's official website has just been launched at: http://www.tu-chemnitz.de/ac21
For the time being, only the tentative schedule of the Forum and the contact address for inquiries (email@example.com) can be found on the website, but more detailed information including the programs and sub-themes, etc. is expected to be provided soon by TU Chemnitz.
Thank you for your continued support of AC21 and its activities.
